Webinar Synopsis
The majority of people with sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBDs) are undiagnosed. SRBDs can lead to hypertension, stroke and heart attack in adults, and behavioural problems in children. There is also a strong correlation between SRBDs and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD). Untreated, patients with TMD will have ongoing symptoms, including headaches and chronic pain. The general dentist is the health professional best suited to recognize and initiate treatment of TMD and SRBDs for patients of any age. Treatment includes bite registration and appliance therapy.
